Oil Company CEOs Must Testify

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you to work with your colleagues on the House Oversight and related committees to compel key oil industry CEOs to testify before Congress. The deception of these executives in terms of their propaganda campaign on climate change can only be undone with public, on the record testimony. It needs to be fully exposed. Accountability is lacking on all aspects of our democracy right now. A public relations 'pillory' is what is needed to break the tight grip that these companies have on public perception and our members of Congress. If they won't appear, or send a lawyer instead, use whatever fines are appropriate to compel their testimony. I know they'll give non-answers, but we must keep asking the questions, and not allow them to simply spout platitudes on the Sunday shows and Financial news channels. Thank you.
