An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Comply with court order, safeguard rule of law

3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I ask you to stand up on behalf of your constituents against the lawless actions of our executive branch in defying judicial orders to facilitate the return of wrongfully deported U.S. resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador's brutal prison system. The administration's refusal to comply with the unanimous Supreme Court ruling mandating Abrego Garcia's return represents an extremely dangerous erosion of constitutional checks and balances that undermines the rule of law. Failing to uphold court decisions opens the door to further authoritarian overreach by the president against civil liberties and human rights. Our democracy cannot tolerate such a disregard for due process from its leadership.
