Co-sponsor  S.1616 the Judiciary Act & S. 359 Ethics, Recusal & Transparency Act

Corruption in our Supreme Court is embarrassing, dangerous, and unacceptable. From what I've read and heard in the news, it appears at least four of the Justices have been installed to rule for a selective wealthy few. There needs to be investigations into Justices who have taken money and perks from people or groups with business before the court. We’re overdue to check the balance of the Supreme Court. Lifetime appointments, aren’t those typically reserved for monarchy who answer to no one?  Why the founding fathers thought it was a good idea to bestow such an honor on the position of a Supreme Court Justice is in my opinion naive, and sets up the nation for disaster when less than honorable actions are engaged. We’re supposed to be progressing as a nation.  Yet, nearly 30% of Americans have lost access to reproductive healthcare because a fringe partisan group wants to force their self-righteous dictatorial religious beliefs on the entire nation.  Voting rights are being attacked at multiple levels of government with partisan groups searching for the metaphorical weakest links to break to undermine our democracy and make our votes/voice potentially meaningless.  The LGBTQIA+ community is being targeted by conservative hate groups and unjustly persecuted simply for existing. By definition the Justices are supposed to be a “unifying force” and far too often I’m not seeing that happen. The President of the United States has the power to nominate Justices, and given the growth rate of the nation, I think it’s about time to add more seats in an effort to restore balance and faith in our judicial system.  There also needs to be a logical and easily enforceable ‘code of ethics’ established for the highest court.  America is losing its honor and dignity at an alarming rate.  We are in a crisis that needs our attention so that as a nation we don’t perish.  If you are not already, I'm requesting that you support rebalancing the Court by co-sponsoring S. 1616 the Judiciary Act of 2023 as well as S. 359 the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal and Transparency Act. Once again I'll emphasize, term limits for Supreme Court Justices need to be addressed. We need SCOTUS reform now. Thank you.
