Maintain US funding for Palestinian refugee aid agency UNRWA.

I'm writing you to oppose H.R.1102. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) provides vital humanitarian aid and public services to over 5.7 million registered Palestinian refugees across the Middle East. Withholding US contributions would severely undermine UNRWA's ability to deliver essential healthcare, education, relief and social services to this extremely vulnerable population. At a time of immense hardship and instability in the region, maintaining support for UNRWA's operations is critical to upholding basic human rights, preventing further desperation, and preserving hope for a future resolution to this protracted refugee crisis. Continuing US funding for UNRWA demonstrates compassion as well as our nation's commitment to promoting regional peace and security.
