MAKE THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION EXPLAIN IRAN. IT’S THE LEAST YOU CAN DO
2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!
Announcing the deaths of four service members following the Iran attack launched Feb. 28, Trump said in a video posted to social media: “And sadly, there will likely be more before it ends, that’s the way it is. Likely be more.”
Then he went back to his million-dollar-a-plate dinner fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago. After first taking off the USA cap he wore while ordering the attack on Iran from a secure ‘tent’ set up his estate grounds.
There has never been seen a more jarring contrast in worlds. While American sons and daughters are sent into harm’s way, a guy who brags about his Vietnam deferments gets to go back to his guests and regale them with his take-charge bravery. And metaphorically shrug his shoulders with an ‘oh well’ at the death part of it.
Our intelligence agencies identified no imminent threat from Iran.
There was no sign that the nation was close to developing a nuclear weapon.
The White House still has on its website a June statement regarding Trump’s bombing of Iran carrying the headline: “Iran’s Nuclear Facilities Have Been Obliterated ‒ and Suggestions Otherwise are Fake News.”
Are we supposed to trust the word of an administration that lies so sloppily? That can’t even keep its propaganda straight?”
What is the reason for this swift attack, conducted in conjunction with Israel?
Why was a case not presented to the American people before their sons and daughters were dispatched, again, to a region of endless wars?
Why was Congress not asked to declare war, as the Constitution requires?
We the people are worried about the cost of food and health insurance.
We’re worried about energy prices and rent.
What we saw this weekend was a president green-lighting a war that will cost billions (our billions), a war that will likely spike energy prices, and according to him, kill more Americans, from the palatial comfort of his glitzy South Florida home.
What we saw was a convicted felon, who has been found liable for sexual abuse, a billionaire living the highest of high lives ‒ deciding all on his own that American troops would enter another Middle East war.
Good thing Congress isn’t alive to see this.
P.S. none of this will make us forget about Epstein. And that’s absolutely the way it is. And always will be.
