These actions appear to undermine the foundational principles of our democracy, and I urge Congress to take swift measures to safeguard our nation’s democratic integrity.

On January 24, 2025, President Trump dismissed at least 17 inspectors general across various federal agencies without the mandated 30-day notice to Congress. This abrupt action compromises the independence of these watchdogs, essential for ensuring transparency and accountability within the government.
Consolidation of Executive Power:
The administration has exhibited a maximalist interpretation of executive authority, challenging constitutional checks and balances.
