H.R. 7661 is misleading, because it's not about protecting children. It's about banning information on trans people. We already have the Miller Test and state-level obscenity laws to make sure inappropriate books don't end up on school shelves. We don't need another law that will just tie school funding in knots as they try to figure out if a book about a tomboy "involves transgenderism". Don't waste your time and effort on legislation that won't do anything to help kids learn and grow.
