Restore 9/11 survivors fund

The recent termination of 20% of the staff at the World Trade Center Health Program is highly concerning and detrimental to the well-being of the brave responders and survivors of the 9/11 attacks. These individuals put their lives on the line to aid in the aftermath and now suffer from long-term health consequences due to exposure to toxic substances. Cutting vital resources and personnel from this program will only exacerbate their struggles to access the healthcare and support they desperately need. Slashing funding for the 9/11 health programs not only fails to provide adequate care for those impacted, but it dishonors the sacrifices made on that tragic day. As a native New Yorker, the President should understand the enduring toll 9/11 has taken on the community. Reversing these shortsighted cuts and restoring the full capacity of the World Trade Center Health Program is crucial to upholding our commitment to those who served selflessly in one of our nation's darkest hours. I urge you to join the bipartisan calls from lawmakers to immediately reinstate the terminated staff and funding for this essential program. The heroes of 9/11 must not be forgotten or neglected - they deserve full access to the healthcare services they have rightly earned through immense personal sacrifice. Taking action to undo these cuts is a moral imperative.
