I am writing to urge you to take immediate action to impeach Donald Trump. His blatant disregard for the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law has reached a dangerous level, and each day he continues to undermine our democracy and our system of checks and balances.
Most recently, Trump has claimed he has the power to rescind presidential pardons granted by President Biden—an action that has no legal basis. This is not only unconstitutional but also a direct attack on the fundamental principles of our government. No president has the authority to revoke the legal acts of a previous administration in this way. If left unchecked, this sets a terrifying precedent for the abuse of executive power.
This is just one example. Every day, Trump demonstrates his willingness to dismantle democratic institutions and violate the limits of presidential power. His reckless actions and authoritarian rhetoric pose an existential threat to the stability of our nation. Congress cannot stand by while he continues to erode the foundations of our democracy.
I urge you to move forward with impeachment proceedings immediately. The American people deserve leaders who will uphold the Constitution, not those who will allow a lawless executive to trample over it. I implore you to act now, before further damage is done.
