I am writing as a constituent to ask you to vote AGAINST adding the United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative (Section 219 in the House / Section 1217 in the Senate) to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
This program risks using U.S. tax dollars to fund weapons research and development for another country. Because America has a much larger economy, "joint development" mostly means using our money, engineers, and factories to build military hardware tailored to Israel's regional needs.
Creating a special Pentagon official to fast-track these projects gives foreign defense companies unfair access to U.S. military funding. Instead of strengthening American defense, it ties our military supply chain to foreign political interests.
With the US debt at $40 trillion, let’s protect U.S. dollars and vote to remove this provision from the NDAA.
