An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Uphold press freedom, maintain objective USAGM journalism

6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I am concerned about the U.S. Agency for Global Media ending its contracts with major international news agencies like the Associated Press, Reuters, and Agence France-Presse. This move raises red flags about potential government censorship and state-run propaganda. Cutting ties with these vetted news organizations risks undermining the objectivity and credibility of USAGM's reporting. A free and independent press is crucial for democracy, and this decision seems to be a step in the opposite direction. I urge you to reconsider this course of action and instead uphold principles of press freedom and access to impartial information from reputable sources.
