National Defense Authorization Act: Section 1217

I urge you to vote no on cloture for the National Defense Authorization Act unless it includes an amendment to remove Section 1217, which would establish a new U.S.-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative that effectively integrates the two militaries in a way that would be very difficult to reverse. Our military should not be inextricably connected to any other nation’s military. If this passes, it would be irresponsible and dangerous to our nation’s safety and sovereignty. The Senate must do everything possible to stop this initiative, even if it means blocking the entire bill to prevent Section 1217 from passing.
