Democrats need to act

As an immediate priority, Democrats should introduce a bill to restore a FAIRNESS DOCTRINE that makes it illegal for not only the press but also for all those in positions of public trust to lie to American citizens. The renewed Doctrine MUST have a fast, strong enforcement mechanism. It doesn’t matter whether or not the bill gets out of committee, is brought to the floor for a vote, or passes. If the Democrats loudly and daily promote the bill from the steps of the Capitol, they will reveal to citizens who in Congress prefers to lie to constituents when lying will provide personal or party benefits.
