An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Protect the Oath: Reject Presidential Intimidation Now

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

We call on the United States Congress to publicly denounce President Trump's threats directed toward lawmakers who uphold their constitutional responsibilities. No president—current or former—has the authority to intimidate elected officials, undermine constitutional oversight, or demand personal loyalty from the military. Such conduct weakens our democracy, endangers public trust, and violates the foundational principle that no individual is above the Constitution. We further urge Congress to reaffirm the longstanding legal and ethical duty of all U.S. service members to reject unlawful orders. The Constitution, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the Department of Defense Law of War Manual, and generations of military doctrine make clear that the military's allegiance is to the rule of law—not to any one leader.
