Restore Federal Funding for NOAA's Arctic Report Card

Restore federal funding for NOAA's Arctic Report Card immediately. The Trump administration's decision to defund this report — published every year since 2006 and compiled by more than 100 scientists worldwide — is a direct attack on our ability to track one of the most consequential climate crises on the planet. The Arctic is warming faster than anywhere else on Earth, and last year's report found that the past decade is the 10 warmest on record there since 1900. We cannot afford a gap in that data. Climate scientist Zack Labe, an author on the report since 2020, warned that losing it "would create a significant gap in our ability to track and connect these changes from year to year, with implications for people and communities around the world." This isn't just a scientific loss — it's a policy failure. Decision-makers at every level rely on this report. Defunding it doesn't make the Arctic stop warming; it just makes sure we stop paying attention. Fight to restore this funding now.
