I am writing to express my profound concern regarding reports that senior government officials have been using insecure, non-governmental messaging apps to make plans related to matters of war and national security. Such behavior not only circumvents transparency but also raises serious questions about accountability and the integrity of our democratic processes.
The use of non-secure messaging platforms by public officials to discuss critical matters -- especially those involving war plans -- undermines public trust and poses a direct threat to the principles of government oversight.
The use of such messaging platforms to detail step-by-step attack plans and to identify intelligence assets BY NAME places their very lives in extreme danger.
As my elected representative, I urge you to take immediate action to investigate these alarming practices and demand the resignations of Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and any other officials found to be violating federal rules governing classified communications and avoiding federal records retention requirements.
The American people deserve leaders who prioritize transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in their decision-making processes, particularly when it comes to issues as consequential as national security and the use of military force.
I also call upon you to advocate for stronger policies to ensure that such actions cannot occur in the future. Clear guidelines and enforceable penalties should be established to prevent the misuse of non-secure platforms for official government communications, particularly when those communications pertain to matters of public and global significance.
