She was not a suspect, had no warrant, and was present as a legal observer. Video shows her vehicle turning away when an agent fired three shots. No officer was injured. Agents then prevented a physician from rendering aid. Despite clear video evidence, DHS officials labeled the killing “self-defense” and smeared the victim. Minnesota officials publicly rejected that narrative as unsupported and false. This was not an isolated incident. Federal immigration enforcement has become increasingly militarized, opaque, and dangerous, with rising use-of-force incidents, deaths in custody, and repeated court findings against ICE practices. Congress cannot remain silent. Statements are not enough.
