An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Hands Off of Social Security

44 so far! Help us get to 50 signers!

The proposed changes to Social Security represent a grave threat to the financial security of millions of Americans who have paid into the system their entire working lives. Cutting benefits or raising the retirement age would inflict severe economic hardship on vulnerable seniors already struggling to make ends meet. Privatization schemes are thinly veiled efforts to redirect funds away from guaranteed benefits toward risky private investment accounts benefiting Wall Street. As our elected representatives, you have a fundamental duty to protect and strengthen Social Security for current and future retirees, not enable its dismantling. The American people demand you reject any measures that undermine this vital social safety net.
