Please Address the Impact of Drone Delivery on Workers and Communities

congress I’m writing to raise a concern about the rapid expansion of drone delivery programs by companies like DoorDash. I recently used their platform and was given a choice between a drone or a human driver. Choosing the drone meant no tip, no human interaction — and one less income opportunity for a gig worker.
This shift raises serious questions about job displacement, wage erosion, and algorithmic business models that bypass basic labor protections. If these programs scale without regulation, it could mean fewer jobs, more noise pollution, and even commercial air clutter in residential neighborhoods.
I'm not against technology, but we need smart, people-first policy to make sure innovation doesn’t come at the expense of working-class Americans and livable communities.
Please push for oversight of commercial drone delivery programs, and consider legislation that ensures:
• Fair labor alternatives are protected
• Environmental and noise impacts are studied
• Tech companies can’t offload the social cost onto workers and neighborhoods
