Oh what a tangled web we weave…
Epstein. Trump. All tangled in that same web.
While there is not yet definite proof that Trump crossed any legal lines in that relationship, the moral lines we profess to hold dear were certainly crossed then, and when we re-elected a convicted sexual predator and felon to the presidency.
So any public moral preaching is just that. Words in an empty vacuum.
One true thing we are discerning from the drip of Epstein info is that people behave badly when they think no one can see them. And that a certain class of our society believes themselves to be untouchable. And oh so superior.
No matter the political class you belong to.
P.S. Being superior might include not writing down things you wouldn’t say in public or want the world to read about.
But no matter, the Epstein train is gathering steam once again. And it seems there might not be any stopping it.
We the people wait expectantly to see how convoluted the process becomes to finally release the government’s Epstein files. Will the vote to release succeed in the GOP Congress? If so, will the president veto the release? Will Ghislaine Maxwell get the pardon she has worked so hard for?
And will the GOP Congress continue to destroy themselves and their party to cover up whatever it is that may, or may not, be being so assiduously hidden?
As Rep. Massie who backed the bipartisan House discharge petition to release the files told CNN: “This vote is going to be on your record for longer than Trump is going to be president. And what are you going to do in 2028 and 2030 when you’re in a debate…and they say, ‘How can we trust you? You covered up for a pedophile back in 2025.’”
He’s not wrong.
