Cease-Fire Now

I am writing to ask that you join colleagues in calling for an immediate, temporary cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war. Hamas must release hostages and Israel must allow humanitarian aid and commit to truly protecting non-combatants. I condemn the brutal Hamas attacks, and recognize Israel’s right to defend itself. The disproportionate response on the people of Gaza is reprehensible, and we must show the moral courage to tell an ally that they have gone too far. Please also join calls for a long-term peace based on a two-state solution.
