An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives
Censure Racist Rep. Randy Fine Now
6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!
I am demanding that you support the immediate censure of Rep. Randy Fine and call for his removal from all committee assignments.
His statement — “If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one” — is not political rhetoric. It is open dehumanization of an entire religious group.
If a member of Congress had said this about Black people, Jewish people, or Asian people, there would be swift bipartisan condemnation and consequences. There would be no hesitation. Whatever the House would do in those circumstances is exactly what it must do now.
Anything less is selective outrage.
This is not an isolated incident. Rep. Fine has repeatedly used inflammatory, dehumanizing language, including rhetoric advocating collective punishment and the starvation of civilians in Gaza. That pattern makes this moment even more urgent.
Censure is the minimum. Removal from all committee assignments — including Foreign Affairs and Education & the Workforce — is necessary to preserve the integrity of the House.
Silence or delay signals that open hatred toward Muslims is tolerable in Congress. It is not.
Will you support censure?
Will you demand his removal from committees?
The line must be drawn now.
