Oppose IGO Anti-Boycott Act: Protect Protest and Free Speech

The advancement of the IGO Anti-Boycott Act, which expands anti-boycott laws, is a clear violation of our constitutional rights to protest and free speech. This legislation, passed by the House Foreign Affairs Committee with a 42-3 vote, is seen as a direct counter to the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, a Palestinian-led initiative against human rights abuses. The recent rise in pro-Palestinian activism, particularly on college campuses, highlights the importance of these rights. It is unacceptable for our laws to compel us to support entities that contradict our values. Therefore, it is imperative to oppose this bill to safeguard our fundamental rights and uphold the principles of freedom and justice.
