Demand Accountability for Trump's Criminal Conduct and January 6 Attack

I am writing to demand that you take immediate action to hold Donald Trump accountable for his criminal conduct, particularly his role in the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol and his illegal retention of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. Former special counsel Jack Smith testified before the House Judiciary Committee that his investigation revealed Donald Trump is the person who caused January 6, that it was foreseeable to him, and that he sought to exploit the violence. Smith's team followed the facts and the law to an indictment of an unprecedented criminal scheme to block the peaceful transfer of power. The evidence showed Trump was looking for ways to stay in power rather than seeking honest answers about election fraud, and he rejected information that conflicted with his goal of remaining in power. I urge you to support legislative measures that would prevent future presidents from pardoning individuals involved in attacks on our democratic institutions and to pursue all available constitutional remedies to hold Trump accountable for his crimes.
