An open letter to the U.S. Congress

End Mass Surveillance and Restore Constitutional Privacy Rights

130 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

End the mass surveillance of Americans. The Fourth Amendment guarantees the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects — and bulk government data collection on law-abiding citizens is a direct violation of that guarantee. I expect you to oppose any reauthorization or expansion of warrantless surveillance programs and to actively support legislation that requires individualized warrants before the government can access Americans' communications or data. This isn't a fringe concern. Millions of Americans have their digital lives swept up by surveillance programs with little oversight and no meaningful consent. The Constitution doesn't have a national security exception that erases the Fourth Amendment. Vote to protect privacy, demand judicial oversight for all surveillance, and stop treating every American as a suspect.
