The Strategic Collapse of Unauthorized Military Operations in Iran

The recent developments regarding the conflict with Iran reveal a catastrophic failure of institutional competency and a blatant disregard for the rule of law. By bypassing Article I oversight to engage in unilateral military action, the executive branch has placed the United States in a strategically weakened position. The administration has failed to secure any meaningful concessions while exposing our economy and military to asymmetric vulnerabilities. When a massive military operation - conducted without a formal Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) - results in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and a severe disruption to global supply chains, it is the American taxpayer who bears the cost. This unauthorized war has triggered an economic shock that disproportionately impacts working-class families through skyrocketing energy and commodity prices. Using unchecked executive power to create a domestic economic crisis raises profound concerns about Equal Protection and the fiscal stewardship of this administration. National security must be grounded in verified data, professional strategy, and congressional consent, not impulsive executive mandates that leave our military unprepared for predictable asymmetric responses. The current negotiations highlight a documented collapse of strategic foresight. I urge you to exercise your Article I authority to: 1. Demand a full, public audit of the intelligence failures and unauthorized expenditures that led to this strategic and economic debacle. 2. Enforce the War Powers Resolution strictly, refusing to appropriate any further funds for military operations in the region that have not been explicitly debated and authorized by Congress. 3. Initiate oversight hearings on the administration's mishandling of the diplomatic negotiations and its failure to protect American economic interests from preventable supply chain disruptions. You have a constitutional duty to hold the executive branch accountable for this structural mismanagement. I expect you to prioritize the rule of law and economic security for your constituents over covering for executive failures.
