An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Reinstate Federal Jurisdiction over Fracking

6 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

It is well known that fracking chemicals pose a serious environmental and health risk wherever they are used. The fact that our Congress buckled under pressure from the oil and gas lobby to exempt fracking from federal regulation under the Safe Drinking Water Act (the Halliburton Loophole) is a sad commentary on the power of the fossil fuel industry over legislators. I implore you to do all that you can to build support in Congress to reinstate federal jurisdiction over this dangerous industry that puts profits over human health. The dominance of these corporations over the policies of our nation make the robber barons of the 1920's seem harmless in comparison.
