Vote NO on H.R. 114 or Any Bill to Cut or Undermine Affordable Care Act

Today I take pen in hand to write and urge you in the strongest possible terms to block and vote NO on any efforts to undermine or repeal the Affordable Care Act. Specifically, H.R. 114, the so-called “Responsible Path to Full Obamacare Repeal”.   As you know, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has provided access to affordable health insurance for over 45 million Americans. Any efforts to repeal or replace this critical legislation would strip millions of their health coverage and essential protections.   I expect we’ll see various attempt to strip out portions of the ACA again like the aforementioned bill. Previous proposals aimed at undermining the ACA, such as the Better Care Reconciliation Act, American Health Care Act, and Graham-Cassidy-Heller-Johnson Amendment, sought to eliminate the individual mandate, reduce financial assistance for low-income individuals, cut Medicaid expansion funding, and instead promote substandard insurance plans lacking comprehensive coverage. Profits over People.   These measures will have devastating consequences, increasing costs and limiting access to quality care in every state, and probably cause closures of clinics and small hospitals as a side effect. The ACA has proven invaluable in expanding healthcare access and affordability in many states and is actually very popular.   The U.S. cannot afford to dismantle this vital law.   I urge you to reject any attempts to repeal or weaken the Affordable Care Act and its lifesaving provisions via H.R. 114 or any similar bill. Protecting this landmark legislation must be a top priority. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
