An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Exempting video games from tariffs for affordable entertainment.

The tariffs are impacting the preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2, which is very disappointing for me as I work hard for my money and want to use it for the things I like. This also impacts US retailers like Best Buy and GameStop. Nintendo also has multiple US stores and a subsidiary in the US. The proposed $449.99 price for the Switch 2 and $79.99 for games like Mario Kart World were already high - any further increases due to tariffs would severely limit accessibility and enjoyment for dedicated gamers like myself. I urge you to advocate for exempting video game hardware and software from additional tariffs to keep this beloved pastime reasonably priced.
