France was right. We are a human rights disgrace

**US is regarded as horrible on human rights ** France's UN mission put it plainly: the U.S. "stands on the sidelines" and "the world no longer listens to them." That is the international community telling us we have abandoned our role. The United States just voted against reappointing UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk — alongside Russia, North Korea, Nicaragua, and Mali. That is the company we are now keeping. That is not a partisan attack. The U.S. Mission's response — that the UN human rights system is on its "deathbed" — is not a policy argument, it is an excuse to walk away from accountability entirely. Your actions and inactions to preserve human rights these past months have allowed the Trump Administration and the Heritage Foundation to destroy all that was good about the US. We once welcomed immigrants as most of us are (unless we are Native Americans). We are a now a fascist police state that allows the subjugation of anyone deemed wrong by white Christian nationalists who espouse eugenic based rhetoric. What have you done beyond politics as usual to stop the destruction of all we hold dear including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights I want you to publicly stand up to Trump and condemn the destruction of human rights in the United States. I want you to push the administration to re-engage with the UN human rights system or pursue impeachment. We did not build global credibility over decades to throw it away like this. This eugenic based rhetoric is not a true reflection of the citizens of the US.
