An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Fla. only)

Protect disabled students' rights - withdraw Section 504 lawsuit

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

As a resident of Florida, I urgently call on our state's attorney general to withdraw from the misguided lawsuit seeking to eliminate Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. This law protects students with disabilities like ADHD, epilepsy, diabetes, and depression from discrimination and ensures they receive necessary accommodations through 504 plans. Eliminating these crucial civil rights protections would devastate vulnerable children's ability to learn and thrive, stripping away decades of progress for Americans with disabilities. Our state should be expanding opportunities for those with special needs, not restricting them. I implore you to protect Florida's disabled students by ending involvement in this harmful effort.
