HHS Cuts Will Be Detrimental: Demand a More Strategic Approach!

The reckless $25,000 buyouts at HHS threaten essential services that millions of Americans rely on. Medicare and Medicaid cover over 140 million people, and staff cuts could disrupt access to life-saving care (Reuters, March 9, 2025). Slashing CDC and NIH personnel weakens disease prevention and medical research when we need them most (Politico, March 9, 2025). The FDA ensures the safety of our food and medicine, but mass buyouts risk delays and oversight failures that endanger public health (Politico, March 9, 2025). These cuts are irresponsible and will have long-term consequences. Congress must act now to stop this before irreversible harm is done.
