An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives

Oppose H.R. 38 – Concealed Carry Reciprocity Threatens Public Safety

3 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I’m writing today because H.R. 38—the national concealed carry reciprocity bill—is a direct threat to public safety, law enforcement integrity, and the well-being of our communities. This bill would override Wisconsin’s standards for concealed carry, forcing our state to accept permits from jurisdictions with dangerously weak requirements. That means more guns in more places, carried by individuals who may lack adequate training, background checks, or accountability. Law enforcement officers and gun violence survivors have consistently warned against this kind of policy. I urge you to stand with them by withholding support. Concealed carry reciprocity will lead to more gun deaths. Period. It strips states of their ability to protect residents and opens the door to increased crime and violence. Please oppose H.R. 38 and any legislation that undermines our right to set strong, evidence-based public safety laws. Thank you for your attention and service.
