Please protect us from gun violence

Please vote in favor of red flag laws and tighter gun control, such as background checks, banning bump stocks, and preventing uncontrolled sale of weapons at gun shows. Our Utah government spends so much time protecting citizens from our own choices, why won’t you protect us from other people? I don’t need government oversight to protect me from the ravages of pornography, I need it to protect from an angry man with an AR-15! The second amendment was never intended to give angry or mentally ill people free reign to murder 50 strangers at a time with automatic weapons. It was never intended to allow abusive ex-husbands to murder their former spouses with impunity. We are the only wealthy nation that allows mass murder to happen without legislative consequence, and you, as our elected officials, are allowing us to live in constant fear of this threat. Please do something.
