Close tax loopholes, not grocery taxes on struggling families

Imposing additional taxes on grocery food purchases would place an undue burden on hardworking families and individuals already struggling to make ends meet. Instead of taxing essential items like groceries, efforts should be focused on closing exploitative tax loopholes that disproportionately benefit corporations and the wealthy at the expense of the general populace. This would generate much-needed revenue without compromising the ability of lower-income households to afford basic necessities. Increasing taxes on groceries harms those who can least afford it and widens economic inequality. Rather than resorting to regressive measures that hurt the majority, lawmakers should prioritize closing unfair tax loopholes that allow the privileged few to avoid paying their fair share. The wellbeing of constituents should take precedence over policies that favor the affluent while burdening the disadvantaged.
