Investigate Taxpayer-Funded Trump Campaign Ad — A Hatch Act Violation

Congress needs to investigate the Trump administration's use of taxpayer money to run a pro-Trump political advertisement on Fox News and Newsmax. The 30-second spot, labeled "Paid for by the U.S. Government," cost $14,000 in public funds and features Trump boasting about his record alongside campaign-style slogans in bright red letters. Calling this a "public service announcement" is an insult to anyone paying attention.
Rep. Jamie Raskin called it "felony criminal theft and conversion of government property for political campaign purposes" and a Hatch Act violation. He's right. Federal law explicitly bans using appropriated funds for "publicity or propaganda purposes not authorized by the Congress." This ad authorizes nothing — it promotes a president. This comes on top of the $220 million taxpayer-funded DHS ad campaign featuring Kristi Noem, a pattern that cannot be ignored.
This is exactly what congressional oversight exists to stop. Launch a formal investigation, hold hearings, and use every tool available to end the administration's practice of raiding the public treasury for political gain.
