I'm deeply concerned at the terrible direction the country is continuing to take. Somehow, the Trump Shutdown has reached it's natural conclusion. We are giving billions and billions of dollars to Argentina, to influence it's election, and hurting our farmers. Instead, of paying for our citizens who are hungry to be fed, we are spending millions on a ballroom in the white house? All that's left is a statement from Melania to "let them eat cake" and we are reliving the French Revolution. Do better. If any of you all have a shred of decency, sponsor a bill that suspends all benefits for Congresspeople & Senators, their families and their staff when the government is shut down. Make it so paying for those benefits by a private party is illegal; and I am sure that when you all feel the pain you're inflicting on the country, you'd suddenly be willing to make a long term plan. Do better.
