"The time is always right to do what is right." We as a nation are more and more in the wrong as we continue to fund the genocide of Palestinians, both with our bombs and with our refusal to recognize the State of Palestine. That we could actively support these war crimes and do so with the self-righteous smugness of claiming to be the greatest nation, the wealthiest, the biggest supporter of democracy worldwide, is right in line with the real U.S. history being banned from schools across this country. So much of our national wealth was built by stolen labor and is hoarded by a handful of tax-avoidant oligarchs, so many lies are told to justify our national shames of poverty, racism, sexism, and violence, that we continue to double down on all of the above, as though somehow if we shout loudly enough and incarcerate enough who protest, we can whitewash and erase that shame. Might does not make right, and might armed to the teeth with firepower and fear is a danger to us all. Divest from warfare. Humanize the victims of these internationally recognized war crimes. Recognize the right of Palestinians to exist as a people. We cannot make up for one Holocaust by backing another. Stop this destruction. Entirely. Now. Let the ICC do its job. If any other nation were doing to their neighbor what Israel is doing to Palestine, it would look more like what Russia is doing to Ukraine, and we've chosen the equivalent opposite side in that conflict, have we not? Drop the 'moral high ground' act- even if Trump wins the next round, our current behavior looks more like his bully tactics than anything worthy of praise.
