An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Prioritize fiscal responsibility over partisan interests on tax reform

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The recent Congressional Budget Office report estimates that the proposed tax cuts and spending package would increase the federal deficit by a staggering $2.8 trillion over the next decade. This is deeply concerning, as it runs counter to promises made to rein in deficit spending. Rather than providing tax breaks that disproportionately benefit the wealthy while cutting crucial healthcare programs for average Americans, a more responsible approach would be to raise tax rates closer to Reagan-era levels. This would generate additional revenue to reduce the deficit and put the nation on a more sustainable fiscal path without burdening those who can least afford it. I urge you to carefully reconsider the implications of this legislation and prioritize fiscal responsibility over partisan interests.
