Reject HHS’s Anti-Trans Report and Protect Trans Healthcare

I’m writing as a constituent deeply concerned about the recent 409-page report released by the Department of Health and Human Services titled “Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices.”
This report is not a scientific review—it is a politically motivated document built to undermine access to gender-affirming care for trans youth. It misrepresents and selectively cites evidence, promotes discredited pseudoscience like “Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria,” and effectively endorses conversion therapy under the euphemism of “gender exploratory therapy.” The report lacks author transparency, ignores international standards of care, and fails to meet the basic criteria of a credible systematic review.
It is part of a larger effort to delegitimize trans people’s existence and restrict access to necessary, life-saving healthcare. If unchallenged, it will be used to justify rollbacks not only for youth care, but for adult trans healthcare, medical training, and insurance coverage.
I urge you to:
Publicly denounce this report and the harmful disinformation it spreads
Hold HHS accountable for its biased and unscientific review process
Protect trans people through legislation that guarantees access to gender-affirming care for youth and adults alike
Transgender people exist. Transgender people deserve care. And as history shows, silence in the face of dehumanizing propaganda only enables further harm.
Please take action to ensure this report is not used to justify policy-based discrimination. Lives depend on it.
