His brother, PHILIP HEGSETH, a POLITICAL OPERATIVE, was also brought into official events, despite holding no clearance or qualifications. On top of that, HEGSETH used an unsecured Signal group chat to discuss classified war plans — a thread that included a journalist and other private citizens. This breach alone would disqualify anyone else from holding a clearance, let alone running the Pentagon. These are not isolated mistakes, there are many more. They are part of a disturbing pattern. In past roles, HEGSETH has defended war crimes, blurred the line between politics and service, and consistently shown contempt for basic security protocols. Let’s be honest: HEGSETH was not confirmed because of his qualifications — he was confirmed to please DONALD TRUMP. He has no prior experience in defense leadership — just years of cable news appearances as a FOX NEWS COMMENTATOR and loyal political mouthpiece. Now, TRUMP has openly stated he does not intend to punish anyone over this — including HEGSETH. Ask yourself: would this response be the same if the person violating protocol were a Democrat?
