Water for the Parched West

Please urge the US Army Corps of Engineers to investigate the possibility of moving water from the Mississippi River to the Colorado River at Lake Powell (Glen Canyon dam on the Utah/Colorado border) and then downstream to Lake Mead (Hoover Dam/Las Vegas) and on through Arizona and beyond. The whole point of suggesting this solution to the Southwest’s water problem is to generate a public demand to the Army Corps of Engineers to investigate the feasibility of such a project. The Corps already has the experience with diverting huge amounts water from the Mississippi using diversion structures and pumps for the purpose of flood control.This project looks feasible from an engineering point of view. The next step is generating the political will. That's where you come in! Even if we cannot totally arrest climate change, we do have the tools and the talent to adapt to change.
