Please co-sponsor and advance the RENEW Conservation Corps Act. This bill would create 1 million jobs over five years, open to all citizens and legal permanent residents 16 and older — and it's exactly the kind of bold, proven policy this moment demands.
The original CCC employed over 3 million Americans, planted 2 billion trees, and pumped the equivalent of $486 billion into local economies. A modernized version can do all of that while fixing what the original got wrong — fully integrated camps, urban and suburban job sites, and civilian rather than military administration. The work is there: toxic waste remediation, wetland restoration, solar and wind development, urban green spaces.
This isn't a fringe idea. Polling shows 79% of likely voters support a CCC-style program, including 84% of Republicans. That kind of cross-partisan support is rare. Back this bill.
