Restore Worker Protections Gutted by the Trump Administration

Stand up for workers and push back against the Trump administration's systematic dismantling of labor protections. In the past year alone, OSHA cut workplace inspections by 20%, overtime protections were stripped from 4.3 million workers, and a rule to limit the silica dust killing coal miners with black lung has been deliberately stalled — despite urgent calls from the United Mine Workers union for immediate enforcement. These aren't abstract policy shifts. They are real cuts to real paychecks and real threats to workers' lives. The damage goes further. Federal contractors saw their minimum wage slashed from $17.75 to $13.30 an hour — a loss of over $9,000 a year for some workers. Three million homecare workers face losing overtime protections entirely. And while the White House claims wages are rising, prices driven up by tariffs and the Iran war have outpaced them, deepening the affordability crisis. AFL-CIO president Liz Shuler called Trump's campaign to strip collective bargaining from 1 million federal employees "the largest single act of union-busting in our history." That description is accurate. Workers need a legislator willing to say so publicly and act accordingly.
