An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Fund TSA, Continue Blocking ICE Funding

9 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I need you to support funding for the Transportation Security Administration while maintaining your opposition to funding Immigration and Customs Enforcement. TSA protects millions of travelers every day at airports across the country. Blocking their funding puts aviation security at risk and threatens to shut down air travel that our economy depends on. TSA agents screen passengers, detect threats, and prevent dangerous items from getting on planes. Without funding, airports close and commerce stops. ICE is different. The agency has a documented record of civil rights abuses, family separations, and detention center conditions that violate basic human dignity. Blocking ICE funding is the right call and you should hold that line. We can have border security and immigration enforcement without funding an agency that operates with minimal oversight and maximum cruelty. But we cannot have functioning airports without TSA. The two agencies serve completely different purposes and deserve different treatment in the budget process. Fund TSA. Keep blocking ICE.
