THE EPSTEIN/MAXWELL SCANDAL KEEPS GROWING

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Reading more about the quiet Federal Bureau of Prisons transfer of Ghislaine Maxwell from a Florida prison to a new minimum-security prison camp in Texas. According to reporting, the Bureau of Prisons’s own policy makes Maxwell ineligible for transfer to a minimum-security prison camp because she is a convicted sex offender. The only person who can grant a waiver to that policy is the administrator of the Bureau of Prisons Designation and Sentence Computation Center. Who is this person? Did they make a unilateral decision? Or were they ordered to move her? If so, who issued the order? And at whose request? Bryan is among the facilities with the lowest level of security in the federal system, with limited or no perimeter fencing, dormitory-style housing and a relatively low staff-to-inmate ratio.
Based on her conviction and sentence, Bureau of Prison guidelines say that inmates who have more than 10 years remaining on their sentences are not typically eligible for a minimum-security facility, though a number of variables are considered. What were the variables considered?
The family of Virginia Giuffre — who was among Jeffrey Epstein’s most well-known sex trafficking accusers and who died by suicide this year — said in a statement that Maxwell’s transfer to the federal prison camp reflected “the justice system failing victims right before our eyes.” Maxwell has also been subpoenaed to give a deposition to Congress on Aug. 11. She has asked for immunity to testify, a request the congressional committee overseeing her testimony quickly rejected.
Although Rep. Comer (R-Kentucky), who chairs the House Oversight Committee, said Friday that he would be willing to delay Maxwell’s testimony until after the Supreme Court rules on her petition, which is expected in late September. I bet he’s happily willing. The foot-dragging so far has been apparent.
“We acknowledge Chairman Comer’s letter and appreciate the committee’s willingness to delay Ms. Maxwell’s deposition while her case is pending before the Supreme Court. We will continue to engage with Congress in good faith to find a way for Ms. Maxwell to share her information without compromising her constitutional rights.” The dance continues.
