Israel’s genocide in Gaza has entered its fourth year, while its annexation of the occupied West Bank continues. They must be stopped immediately. The United States must cut off all military aid and weapons transfers to Israel and end U.S. partnerships that enable these abuses.
There is no longer any credible basis for Congress to treat genocide in Gaza as a fringe allegation or an unsettled human-rights question. The major international, Palestinian, and Israeli human-rights organizations examining Israel’s conduct have overwhelmingly reached findings of genocide, genocidal acts, or genocidal intent. Amnesty International, B’Tselem, Physicians for Human Rights–Israel, the International Federation for Human Rights, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, Médecins Sans Frontières, Al-Haq, Al Mezan, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, and numerous others have accused Israel of genocide. Human Rights Watch has concluded that Israeli authorities are responsible for acts of genocide, and the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry concluded that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
The debate cannot be used as an excuse for inaction. The human-rights community has documented the evidence extensively and reached an overwhelming consensus: Israel’s actions in Gaza are genocidal.
For three years, Palestinians have endured mass killing, starvation, repeated forced displacement, and the destruction of homes, hospitals, schools, and essential infrastructure. Families have buried their loved ones, children have grown up amid death and rubble, and an entire population has been subjected to conditions no human being should endure.
Meanwhile, Israel continues its annexation of the occupied West Bank through settlement expansion, land seizures, displacement, and policies that fragment Palestinian communities and entrench Israeli control.
Congress cannot continue providing the weapons and support that enable this.
Every House member must immediately cosponsor H.R. 3565, the Block the Bombs Act. Senators must introduce companion legislation and publicly encourage their colleagues to support it.
But H.R. 3565 must be a floor, not a ceiling. I demand an end to all U.S. military aid and weapons transfers to Israel and all U.S. military, technological, and industrial partnerships with Israel.
Will you cosponsor H.R. 3565—or introduce companion Senate legislation—and encourage colleagues to do the same? Will you support ending U.S. military aid, weapons transfers, and military partnerships with Israel?
Three years of killing, starvation, displacement, destruction, and impunity are already three years too many. Please take action now.
