The very nature of forced birth laws is inequality. Removing access to abortion and contraception removes a person's ability to control when they become pregnant. It has nearly no impact on the person doing the impregnating.
Any policy that disproportionately targets a single community should be treated with great suspicion. These policies have traditionally been tools of oppression rather than the public good.
For this, and many other reasons, I am writing a letter a day until we write abortion access into law.
