Say No to Musk’s Conflict, Pass Shaheen’s Ethics Bill

I urge you to support Senator Shaheen’s bill that would stop government insiders from using public office to boost their private businesses. Right now, Elon Musk is advising the Trump administration while still owning major stakes in SpaceX, Starlink, and Tesla—all companies that have received billions in federal contracts. That’s a clear conflict of interest (The Guardian, April 2025). This bill is simple and necessary: if someone owns more than 5% of a company, they shouldn’t be helping direct federal money to it.
