I am appalled that our President is taunting and threatening our closest ally of the last hundred+ years. What I had initially taken as a joke, his notion of "annexing" CANADA, appears not to be a joke at all.
Further evidence is this President being unhinged: Trump has publicly called the person who negotiated our existing trade deals with Canada an idiot. Trump himself negotiated those deals.
The entire Canadian nation is taking Trump's boastful bluster and his actual actions seriously, and Canada is considering *joining the EU*, which is unimaginably bizarre. We are on a path toward aligning with Russia against all of our long-term allies. I am terrified for the future of our country domestically and much more terrified for its future on an international stage because this president has worked so hard and so swiftly to undo so very many stable agreements, with Canada, with Ukraine, and across the world.
Trump does not care about the American people. He only cares about power and resources, and even those inconsistently.
Please rein in this president through whatever means possible.
I ask that you impeach Trump.
I ask that you not vote for anything--*anything* he asks for that does not include very specific parameters (no DOGE/Musk involvement, for one)
I ask that you uphold our Constitution and not revert us to an archaic, colonialist time.
